Brian Davis said Friday that U.S. Rep. Tim Walz's recent support against allowing a vote on offshore drilling and opening other federal lands to oil exploration is against the best interests of his constituents in Minnesota's First Congressional District.
"Every time someone fills up their tank, they should consider who represents them in Washington," said Davis, a doctor and engineer — and a Republican — who hopes to unseat Walz in the November general election. "Every day we put off opening up American areas to drilling is another day energy independence is pushed further into the future."
Davis also drew a sharp distinction between himself and Walz on several other issues last week during an interview with the Pipestone County Star.
