The Pipestone Marching Arrows took seventh overall out of 14 bands and second in Class AA out of two bands at the Youth in Music Marching Band Competition Saturday at the Metrodome.
Lori Ilse, color guard adviser, said the Arrows were the smallest band to make the finals and that may have led to their seventh place performance.
Overall, she said, the band played well and had a great season.
“The kids performed wonderfully well,” Ilse said. “They should be very happy with the way they performed.”
Mark Diischer, PAS band director, was out sick early in the week and could not be reached for comment.
While Saturday’s performance brought an end to the year’s marching band competitions, the Marching Arrows will perform once more for the home town crowd during the Indoor Marching Band Concert Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the high school gymnasium.
