Dennis Floody


Dennis Floody, 66, Bemidji, formerly of Pipestone, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D.

Funeral services were  held on Tuesday, June 5 at the Hartquist Funeral Home in Pipestone with Msgr. Gerald Kosse officiating.

Interment was at St. Leo Catholic Cemetery in Pipestone.

Dennis Michael  Floody was born to James and Beulah (Pechtal) Floody on Aug. 31, 1951 in Pipestone where he was raised and received his education. After his graduation from Pipestone High School, he attended Southwest State University in Marshall and Vermillion State Jr. College in Ely where he received his Associate in Arts degree. He then went on to Bemidji State University for his Bachelor of Science degree which he received in November 1984. Upon completion of his education, he continued to live in Bemidji working at Concordia Language Villages.  Throughout the years, he was a self-employed painter.

On May 27, 2018 he was admitted in the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

He is survived by his mother, Beulah Floody, Pipestone; his siblings, Dale Floody (Virginia), Holmen, Wis., Dean Floody, St. Cloud, Marcia Delisle, Kitchener, Ontario, Maureen (Dave) Trnka, Mandan, N.D. and Don Floody, Pipestone; his nieces and nephews, Angela Floody, Evan Floody, Nathan Floody, Heather (Justin) Schmidt, Ryan (Jackie) Delisle, Wesley (Allison) Delisle and Jeremiah (Dianna) Trnka and great-nephews, Caleb and Evan Floody and Frederick Trnka.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Floody and his brothers, Doug Floody and David Floody.
