Marilyn F. Qualley

Marilyn F. Qualley, age 91 of Arkansaw, Wis. died Sunday, July 16, 2023 at home with her family by her side.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at Todd’s house in Arkansaw, Wis.

Marilyn was born on April 29, 1932 at her parent’s home in Jasper, Minn. She was the daughter of Fred C. “Fritz” and Fern (Rademacher) Davis. Marilyn grew up in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School. After high school, Marilyn worked as a secretary at several different companies.

Marilyn married Sid Qualley on May 21, 1955 at Palisades Lutheran Church in rural Garretson, S.D. After marriage they lived in several areas before settling in Eau Claire in 1977, where they lived for 40 years. She retired after working for the Social Security Administration in Eau Claire for 17 years. After Sid’s death in 2018, Marilyn moved in with her daughter, Carol, where she remained the rest of her life.

Marilyn played competitive softball (’57-62’) and was an avid bowler and golfer. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and boating on Lake Wissota. Her favorite quote was, “I never agreed with another man’s opinion, I have too many of my own!”

Marilyn is survived by her children Scott of Arkansaw, Carol Laschinger of Arkansaw and Karen (Kelly) Golden of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren, Teshara (Jake), Nathan, Troy (friend Julia), Todd (Ricci), Amy (Doug) and Joe; five great-grandchildren, Graecyn, Lylah, Finley, Jackson and Brette Marie; sister-in-law Janet Davis, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Sid, two brothers Duane (Darlene) Davis and Allen Davis.
