It’s a bird……..It’s a plane…….It’s Santa!
Much to the delight of the families and kids that gathered at the Pipestone Municipal Airport, it was exactly that on Saturday, Dec. 3. Santa arrived on Flight NP001 from the North Pole around 10 a.m. Despite the cold, Santa was greeted by an excited crowd that gathered outside to see him arrive.
After he arrived, Santa carried his big red bag into the airport terminal where he spent time to hear the Christmas wishes of children. Santa was assisted by his helpers and friends at the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce until noon before making his way back to the North Pole.
During the event, children were also able to enjoy Christmas crafts in the heated airplane hanger next to the terminal. There was a variety of make-and-take crafts sponsored by the Pipestone County 4-H Ambassadors.
If any children missed seeing Santa Saturday, they still can mail letters to him by dropping them off in downtown Pipestone in the big red mailbox next to his house on the corner of Main Street and Hiawatha Avenue.
