The Trunk-or-Treat in Pipestone enchanted the senses with gobs of creativity and Halloween spirit galore

The 5th Annual Pipestone Trunk-or-Treat and downtown candy walk ran from 4:30 – 6 p.m., Oct. 31, on Historic Main Street. Twenty five trunks were decorated by 26 area businesses, nonprofit organizations, churches, clubs  and government agencies.

Erica Volkir, executive director of the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce said the three-block event included 19 businesses that handed out treats from their storefronts.

Volkir estimated around 900 children attended, not including their adult.

One participant, Cole Lytle, store manager at Bomgaars (below), who handed out candy with his 3-year-old Goldendoodle, Henry “the Dude” Danger, said the event was fun for all, including “The Dude.”

Volkir said that the Trunk-or-Treat is one of the Chamber’s favorite community events.

“We are always amazed by the creativity of the participants and their generosity towards our community’s youth,” she said.
