Gravesite cleaning demonstration

The Pipestone County Historical Society is hosting a spring cemetery stone cleaning demonstration on how to remove dirt, debris and lichen from gravestones on Saturday, May 21.

The demonstration will be conducted by Steve Sittig, a member of the Dell Rapids Cemetery Board who has been cleaning stones for five years. He uses the same solution that is used in Arlington National Cemetery.

The demonstration will be held at 1 p.m. at the North Eden Cemetery located, from Ihlen, turn west on County Road 2 to 30th Ave., then turn south. Class size is limited to the first 15 registrations. Cost is $10 each.

Preregistration and payment are required to reserve your spot. All sales are final.
