    Ruthton’s Fourth of July celebration will kick-off with a medallion hunt. Three clues will be given out Tuesday, July 2 through Thursday, July 4. Clues will be posted at the Ruthton Mini Mart, First Independent Bank (Ruthton), Buffalo Ridge Civic Organization Facebook page and KJOE Radio.

    On July Fourth, activities include a 5K run/walk at 8 a.m., the parade at 11 a.m. with a prize for the best “Super Hero,” and a potluck at the city park following the parade. Other activities include a sand money pit, adult money pit, kid’s pie-eating contest, bean bag tournament, bingo, inflatables, sidewalk chalk and other kids’ activities throughout the afternoon.

    Root beer floats will be served from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Buffalo Ridge Express and Lingen Dairy ice cream will be served all day. The celebration will conclude with a community church service on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the park.
