Jason Rieck and his wife, Nichole, have started JD Rieck Plumbing in Pipestone. Jason has about 24 years of plumbing, and heating, cooling and air conditioning (HVAC) experience working for Stout & Evink Plumbing & Heating, and the couple recently purchased the former Stout & Evink property at 620 Seventh St. SW in Pipestone.

In addition to providing plumbing and HVAC services, Nichole said they plan to sell Whirlpool and Maytag appliances including stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers and microwaves. She said they can also get commercial appliances for customers, and provide appliance repair services.

For now, JD Rieck Plumbing includes Jason, Nichole and one other employee. Nichole said they would like to hire a few other employees in the future. Nichole has a background in nursing and insurance and said she’s hoping that they can apply her service and business experience and Jason’s plumbing and HVAC experience to make their new venture a valuable asset to the community.

“Being able to take what God’s given us as talents and be able to give that back in the community, that is where our whole focus is,” she said.

JD Rieck Plumbing’s store front will be open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jason will also take after hours and weekend calls.

The Riecks live near Ihlen and have four children, two of whom are students at Pipestone Area Schools and help with the business. Their other two children are grown and married.
