Accident takes life of Jasper resident


Grant Ira Crawford, 47, of Jasper, lost his life in a two-vehicle accident in Rock County on Thursday night, March 27.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Crawford was driving a Ford F150 north on state Highway 23 and Jayson Lynn Delf, 21, of Hardwick, was driving a Chevrolet Impala north on Hwy. 23 when the vehicles collided near 101st Street in Beaver Creek Township in Rock County at around 10:44 p.m. Delf received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Avera. Crawford was not transported.

According to the State Patrol, Delf was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was involved. Information pertaining to Crawford indicates that he was wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol was not involved.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Luverne Emergency Medical Services, Beaver Creek Fire Department, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Avera Flight responded to the incident. As of Friday afternoon, March 28, information about the crash was believed to be complete, according to the State Patrol.
