The Pipestone County Fair opened up with a special agriculture-based Olympic competition on Wednesday, July 30, at the grandstand.
Fruechte Farms earned the overall championship from four events.

The first contest featured a relay of mixed round and square bales.

Next, contestants handled bales after successfully spinning around a bat a minimum of five times.

The third event was the one-handed wheelbarrow ride. One person sat inside the craft with two people using a hand to propel it.
The final event was a water-filling contest, with all 13 teams participating at once.

Titan Machinery, Pipestone Emergency Medical Services, Windy Ridge Veterinary Clinic, Dar’s Pizza, Movers, Elite Landscaping, the Pipestone Family Aquatic Center, Brinkmeyers Farms, Lacey’s Lollipops and Shawn’s Minions also fielded teams.
