ELKTON, S.D. — The Volga Cormorants eliminated the Elkton Snappers from the South Dakota Region 1B Tournament on Wednesday, July 30, at City Park.
Former Pipestone A’s player Bayley Colemer, now with the Cormorants, was the only player on either team to produce a multiple-hit game as Volga blanked Elkton, 2-0. Colemer belted a solo home run.

The South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association Class B tournament will take place in Brandon this year.
Trevor Olson earned the win, scattering three hits over nine innings and 164 pitches. Olson managed to keep the Snappers from scoring despite allowing eight walks and two hit batters. He struck out seven.

Volga will play District 7B champion Garretson at 1 p.m. Thursday in the opening round of the South Dakota state amateur Class B tournament — set for First National Bank Field in Brandon for the first time ever.

No A’s were picked during last Sunday’s supplemental draft.
Windom selected Tucker Sorenson from Hadley and Charles Erickson of the Heron Lake Lakers. Milroy chose Ryan Rasche and Will Larson from Jackson. All four chosen only will be allowed to pitch.
The 10C championship series between No. 1 Windom and second-seeded Milroy begins 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Island Park in Windom.
Game Two will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Irish Yard. An if-needed third game would be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Windom.
