A. D. Brown has just received an old family relic from Putnam, Connecticut. It is one of the old flint lock muskets and was used by his grandfather nearly 100 year ago, for killing wolves. The gun with its accoutrements is in a good state of preservation and as a family relic is highly prized. The old musket is well worth seeing, being in such marked contrasts to the guns of the present day. It will be given a place in Mr. Brown’s museum.

Wilmer DeVries, Louie Muller and Don Johnson, recently purchased, by sealed bid, one of seven buffalo, quartered at Blue Mound State Park, and offered for sale by the Minnesota Park Service. A five-year old female, weighing 930 pounds, was shot by the Park Ranger and bled out by Verlyn Slieter. The carcass was then brought to Slieter’s Market for processing. One thing is for certain, it is the first buffalo brought in by a white man, to Slieter’s Market, Jasper.
