A five-year-old boy was hospitalized with internal injuries Thursday afternoon when he was caught under the front wheel of a car driven by his mother as he was at play in the yard at his home near Ihlen. In Ashton Memorial Hospital in good condition is Carl Pierret, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pierret. Mrs. Pierret was backing out of the yard to go to Pipestone. She said she checked to see that the driveway was clear, her son must have run up to the car, been knocked over and then caught under the front wheel of her machine. The child uttered no warning cries and it wasn’t until Mrs. Pierret passed over his body that she realized what happened. The youngster is expected to be released the latter part of this week.
