The Pipestone Area Schools boys tennis team dropped two Big South Conference matches last week to Fairmont and Redwood Valley.
The Arrows suffered a 6-1 setback to Fairmont at the PAS Tennis Courts, with the only win coming at No. 1 doubles with Chase Wilson and Makhi Winter defeating Oliver Thedens and Wylee Frederickson by scores of 6-3, 6-3.
Fairmont’s Anthony Stegge defeated Lucas Zupp of PAS in the No. 1 singles match 7-5, 6-1.
Redwood Valley blanked PAS on Thursday, with Cole Johnson and Cayden Johnson-Mariner winning 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 in the third-set tie-breaker.
No. 3 singles player Brady Dunn and fourth-seeded Matthew Swenson both won five games in the opening set of their respective matches.
Last Friday’s home match versus Blue Earth Area was postponed on account of poor weather.
PAS activities director Rick Zollner reported it will not be rescheduled.
Courtside
Pipestone’s dual with Madison, S.D.,on Monday was canceled and will not be made up, per the PAS activities department.
They return to Big South Conference action Thursday versus St. James Area at home.
Seniors Cody Norberg, Chase Wilson and Lucas Zupp all will be honored.
