HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: RTR plays at Sideout Classic Saturday

Southwest Minnesota Christian, Elkton-Lake Benton open Aug. 26

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton opens the season at the Breakdown Sports USA Sideout Classic this Saturday, Aug. 23 at New Prague.

The Knights will play Mayer Lutheran at 1:30 p.m. on the main court as part of the showcase of matches features premium teams.

The Knights then travel to Minneota on Tuesday, Aug. 26, so the schedule is sandpaper-rough right away.

Sideout Classic games are set to air on the Neighborhood Sports Programming Network.

Admission is $13 for adults and $10 for both students and senior citizens aged 65 or older.

Across the border in South Dakota, Elkton-Lake Benton squares off against powerhouse Dell Rapids at home Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Edgerton won’t play a regular-season game until Tuesday, Sept. 2 versus in-town rival SWC. Most matches begin at 7:15 p.m.
