Jim was born on July 10, 1935 to John Joseph Frahm and Margaret Shea Frahm in Pipestone, Minn. He married Margaret H. Lohmann (Madge) on November 19, 1960. Soon after their marriage he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Business and Labor Relations. Over the next few years, they were blessed with three daughters. When he was recently asked what it was like to have three children under the age of four, he said; “It was wonderful, I enjoyed every minute of it.”

In 1954 Jim joined the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper in Germany for three years. Never having flown prior to joining the military he was proud to say, ‘I jumped out of 28 airplanes before I ever landed in one!’

Jim enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources, and he retired in 2001 as Vice President of Human Resources for Coachman Industries after 25 years of service.

He believed in the importance of community service and was involved with several organizations including The Elkhart United Way.  There he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and often spoke publicly on behalf of the United Way to raise funds for their community programs.

In 2015, after more than 40 years in Elkhart, Ind., Jim moved to his home state of Minnesota to be near family. In Woodbury he enjoyed an active life of cribbage and socializing and followed all the local sports teams, especially his favorite, the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Jim was a gifted athlete all his life.  In his adult years he enjoyed golfing and tennis, and continued to play tennis well into his 80’s.

Jim is survived by his three daughters, Catherine (Katie) Shea (Jim) Eggert, Susan Marie (Koen) Demmer, and Micki (Bob) Morrison, his four granddaughters, Margaret Anne Stuempert (Josh), Allyson Job (Nick) , Sarah McClew (Brendan) and Ana Demmer. Jim became a proud great-grandfather to Johann James (JJ) Stuempert on Valentine’s Day earlier this year.

He is predeceased by his parents, John Joseph Frahm and Margaret Shea Frahm, his wife of 55 years, Margaret H. (Madge) Frahm, his brother John R. Frahm and his sister Mary Frahm Froning.
