Jeffrey A. Klein

Jeffrey A. Klein, 42, Pipestone, died Saturday, May 1, 2004 of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Christian Reformed Church, Pipestone with Dr. Jerrien Gunnink, officiating.

Interment will be in New Woodlawn Cemetery.

Honorary casket bearers were his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Brian, Sarah, Matt, Debra and Rob Klein.

Casket bearers were Terry and Greg Klein, Trent Vis, Dennis Smit, Jon Lang and Matt Running.

Jeffrey Alan Klein was born to Adrian and Albertha (Gerritsen) Klein on Dec. 23, 1961 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was raised in Rock Valley, Iowa until 1967 when he moved with his parents to Pipestone. He attended school in Pipestone and graduated from Pipestone High School in 1980. He worked his entire life with his father and his brothers at Klein’s Tractor Salvage in Pipestone.

On Sept. 25, 1981 he was united in marriage to Cindy Blom in Pipestone. Following their marriage they lived in Pipestone. On Jan. 1, 1998 he married Shawn Smit-Pals in Pipestone.

He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Pipestone. He was baptized in Rock Valley, Iowa, and he made his profession of faith in Pipestone.

He is survived by his wife, Shawn Klein, Pipestone; two daughters, Brandi Klein, Pipestone and a special son-in-law to be, Jesse DeRuyter, Holland and Amanda Klein, Alexandria; two stepdaughters, Paige Pals and Aubrey Pals, both of Pipestone; his parents, Adrian and Albertha Klein, Pipestone; two brothers, Terry Klein and Greg (Linda) Klein, both of Pipestone; his mother-in-law, Carol Smit, Edgerton; his former father-in-law, Jim (Dorothy) Blom, Estelline, S.D. and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Johanna Gerritsen; his paternal grandparents, Art and Susie Klein; his father-in-law, Arvin Smit and his former mother-in-law, Cynthia Blom.
