ELKTON, S.D. — The Elkton Harvest Festival is slated for this Friday through Sunday, July 18-20.
Festivities begin with the “Slice of Greatness” gala at 6 p.m. July 18. The cost is $20 per person, or $125 for a table of 8.
Reservations are requested for the gala.
The Miss Elkton Pageant follows at 7:30 p.m.
Ashya Flores, Charlie Thooft, Jocelyn Prosch and Payton Kuehl are running for Miss Elkton.
Little Miss contestants are Isidore Thielen, Kaydence Bushman, Litzy Enriquez, Nora McMahon and Sophia Chavarin.
Saturday’s events feature a breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. The cost is a freewill donation.
There also will be a poker run with registration at 10:30 a.m., bean bag tournament at 1 p.m. with $1,000 in payouts — plus a pie social and United Parish will run a food stand.
The Broken Oak Street Dance is the final event on Saturday. All ages are welcome to boogie.
Sunday, the final day of Harvest Festival, will be family fun day at City Park.
The parade begins at noon on Buffalo Street.
There will be a car show at 1 p.m. at the corner of Elk and Main, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, inflatables, dunk tank, train rides, face painting and a vendor fair.
Other activities include pony rides, alpaca petting zoo, a meet-and-greet with superheroes, splash tour from the Elkton Fire Department, bingo and children’s tractor pull.
The Elkton Snappers will play host to the Renner Rangers at 3 p.m., followed by the Estelline Merchants at 5:30 p.m.
