Niemann headline act at Dutch Festival

Jerrod Niemann will be the headline act at the 75th Annual Dutch Festival, “Diamonds Through the Decades.”

Gates will open at 7 p.m. Saturday in City Park.

Lewis Brice will serve as the opening act at 8 p.m., with Niemann’s performance to follow at 9:30 p.m.
Niemann is currently on tour, with other scheduled stops in Illinois, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Texas and Arizona.

A native of Kansas, Niemann said his country music styling has been influenced by Lefty Frizzell, Keith Whitley and George Strait. He learned how to play guitar on a Tracy Lawrence-autographed acoustic axe.
After graduating from Liberal High School, Niemann began his music career strumming guitar and singing at Texas bars and clubs — before eventually performing at the historic White Elephant Saloon located across the street from the Fort Worth (Texas) Stockyards.

Niemann is best known for his 2010 release on Sea Gayle/Arista Nashville, partially owned by country powerhouse Brad Paisley, “Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury,” which received strong professional ratings from Allmusic, Roughstock and Country Weekly.

Per Billboard Magazine, “Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury” was the top-selling country album for a period, and also peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in 2010. It charted for a whopping 78 straight weeks.

“Lover, Lover,” a song from the “Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury” album, was No. 1 on the U.S. Country chart that year. The single achieved platinum status according to data found at The Recording Industry of America (RIAA).

Two more tracks from that album also appeared in the top-20, “What Do You Want” (a gold-certified hit) and “One More Drinkin’ Song.”

Niemann has released seven other records, starting with “Long Hard Road” in 1999 to “Ghost Rider” in 2020, for labels such as Curb and Category 5. He’s also played other country meccas like the Grizzly Rose in Denver.

Brice, according to his website autobiography, is a “seasoned singer/songwriter colored by his love for country, Southern rock and R&B.” He’s the younger brother of country star Lee Brice.

Brice released a self-titled six-song EP in 2017, and followed that with “Product Of” in 2023. These days, Brice is singing his new tune, “She Loves My Country.” Another fresh track is titled, “NASCAR Fast.”
Expect a show of authentic country sounds and unmistakable stage presence from both of these talents.
