State Judging Contest results

Judging programs are one of 4-H’s best ways to develop strong decision-making skills in young people. In addition to making decisions, judging program participants are asked to justify and defend their decisions to an official judge, further developing life skills, wherever their future may lead them.
At the Minnesota State Fair, 11 Pipestone County 4-H members participated in the state competitions for General Livestock and Dairy Judging.
In the General Livestock competition, which included beef cattle, sheep, swine, and meat goats, Pipestone County was represented by nine young people. Team members of the intermediate division were: Kendra Folkerts, Nate Bobendrier, Will DeBates & Tyenna Muller. The team placed 5th overall. Individually, Tyenna Muller placed 4th Overall.
Members of the Senior Team: Sam Bobendrier, Hunter St. Aubin, Colton Raatz, Devin Pietz & Isaac Berg. The senior team placed 4th overall and 2nd in sheep. Individually, Devin Pietz placed 7th overall and 1st in sheep; Isaac Berg placed 2nd in sheep.
Josie Sutherland & Alyssa Winter judged individually for the Dairy Judging competition.
Congratulations to all team members and thank you to the volunteer coaches and parents who help make Pipestone County’s judging programs successful!
