Pipestone County Board of Appeal and Equalization

The Pipestone County Board of Appeal and Equalization met with Chairman, Chris Hollingsworth, Commissioners, Dan Wildermuth, Luke Johnson, Doug Nagel, Dallas Roskamp, Auditor/Treasurer Amanda Baarson-Sandy, Assessor Chris McChesney, Deputy Assessor Lisa Braun, Appraiser Alexis DeGroot and County Administrator Steve Ewing. Chairman Hollingsworth called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The oath to fairly and impartially perform the duties as the official members of the Pipestone County Board of Appeal and Equalization document was presented by County Administrator Steve Ewing and signed by the Board of Appeal and Equalization members.
No members of the public attended the meeting.
Assessor McChesney described changes in the 2025 assessment payable in 2026. Reports were reviewed on sales county wide for cities, rural residential, commercial/industrial, apartments, townships, agricultural land and pasture/meadow lands.
Assessor McChesney discussed the Homestead Value Exclusion and the Ag Tier Limit. Reported on sales in the county; Pipestone 50, Edgerton 19, Jasper 8, and the rest of the small cities 7 sales. There were 19 agricultural land sales and 11 commercial sales. No State Board of Equalization notices were ordered for 2025. Total Estimated Market Value for all townships and cities for 2025, $3,413,063,300.
Motion by Johnson, seconded by Wildermuth to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
