Pipestone Area Schools hosted the 11th Annual Big South Conference Choral Festival Monday, Nov. 3. Choirs from Marshall, Luverne, Worthington and Pipestone spent the better part of the day participating in choral instruction sessions and practicing special numbers for a concert performed that evening.

The concert showcased two numbers from each participating school, two numbers from the honors choir, and two numbers performed by a mixed-choir of members from all four schools.

Dr. Russell Svenningsen, director of vocal studies and associate professor of music at Augustana University, served as the guest conductor and clinician. He conducted choral selections sung by the honors choir and the full mixed-school choir. Throughout the day, Dr. Svenningsen provided special instruction to the participating students.
