Scott Glenn Pankonen


Former Pipestone resident, Scott Glenn Pankonen, passed away unexpectedly in his Mountain View, Calif. home on Nov. 3, 2025 at the age of 66. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Scott was born in Pipestone, Minn. on Sept. 25, 1959. He spent his childhood in Pipestone then moved to Mountain View, Calif. in 1978 where he lived with his sister Deborah Pankonen Fertal and his nephew Troy Pankonen. In 1979 he met his former wife Dawn (Garro) Pankonen. They got married in 1982. They had their first daughter Melissa in 1988 and had their second daughter Ashley in 1992. Scott and Dawn divorced in 1997 but still remained great co-parents and very close friends. Scott worked in various positions but what he was most passionate about was handy work and worked as an Apartment Manager/Maintenance man for about 40 years. He was a hard worker as well as a very loving father, he showed up for his children in every way imaginable. What meant the most to him in life was his family and he showed that in many ways. He loved being a father to his girls and a grandfather to his grandchildren.

Scott is survived by his children Melissa Pankonen, and Ashley Godinez. Along with their husbands Juan Quintero (husband to Melissa) and Aaron Godinez (husband to Ashley). His precious grandchildren Jonathan and Jacob (sons of Melissa and Juan). His former wife and friend Dawn Pankonen. His siblings, sister Deborah Pankonen Fertal and her son Troy Pankonen, sister Linda Dapp, and brother Todd Pankonen. Along with many other nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Preceded in death by his father and mother Carl Pankonen and Vadis (McCurdy) Pankonen. His brothers Terry, Ricky, Coby, Steven and sisters Brenda, Patricia, Lori, Wilda.

He will be deeply missed by everyone who was a part of his life.
