Marlene Kozlowski, 91, Pipestone, died Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Little Falls Care Center in Little Falls.

A graveside service was held on Friday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. at New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone with Rev. Evan Schiller officiating.

Marlene Marie Kozlowski was born on December 26, 1932 to Halbert and Gladys (Mork) Tweet in Kenneth, Minn. Marlene moved with her parents as they farmed in the Lismore, Kenneth, and Chandler, Minn. areas. She graduated from Adrian High School in Adrian, Minn. and following the graduation she worked as a receptionist for a local chiropractor.

Marlene met Victor Kozlowski while he was stationed at the Chandler Air Force Base and they were married on March 26, 1954. Following Victor’s honorable discharge from the Air Force they moved to Kingston, N.Y. where Victor grew up. They lived there for a short time and then moved to Pipestone, Minn. in 1960. Marlene was a full-time mother and homemaker as they raised five children: four boys and a girl.

After Victor’s death in September of 1985, Marlene continued to live in Pipestone. Beginning in 2018, she spent considerable time with Gloria and family recovering from injuries. In December of 2023, she broke her femur and entered the Little Falls Care Center for recovery. On Friday, March 15, 2024, Marlene passed away peacefully at the age of 91.

Marlene was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others and delighted in a cup of coffee with friends and relatives. Though she loved visitors, dogs where always her favorite companion. Later in life, Marlene was an avid reader of nutrition and healthy life style books. Marlene enjoyed the many trips she and Vic went on and also the many dances they shared. Marlene was hard to keep off the dance floor at a wedding reception!

Marlene is lovingly remembered by her children, Gloria (Jim) Kofoed of Little Falls, Minn., Perry (Coreen) Kozlowski of Fargo, N.D., Thomas Kozlowski of Fargo, Jon (Shelly) Kozlowski of Pipestone, and James Kozlowski of Breckenridge, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Steven (Rebecca) Kofoed, Justin (Michaela) Kofoed, Chad (Julia) Kofoed, Anna Kozlowski (Alex Zikmund), Andrew (Laura) Kozlowski, David Kozlowski, Daniel Kozlowski, Jena (Zach) Rohlik, and Aaron (Stephanie) Kozlowski; and ten great grandchildren, Evan, Owen, and Isaac Kofoed, Grace Kofoed, Caden Kofoed, Hudson and Saylor Rohlik, Chloe Kozlowski, Joseph Zikmund, and Banks Kozlowski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor and her parents.
